It seems as if Ags all over share the same problem. Lack of places to go to keep them off the streets. There are a few spots around though, and if you know where to go, you’ll probably hit some excite ment, or at least some specials. Peanut Gallery is a casual type club, with Tuesday night the time to go if you’re a lady and like to drink. It’s Ladies Night all night long with no cover and all the free drinks the girls can hold. It’s three dollars for the guys though. Harry J’s has more of a date- place atmosphere. For one thing, there are no games or pool tables. It’s a dollar for girls and two for guys. Tuesday, the ladies are free. Every night they’re open (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) country music rules. If you like the country-music at mosphere mixed in with pizza. Sparky’s is the place. Thursdays, certain brands of beer are a dollar a pitcher and every evening they have a pizza special. Sports Club will stick you with a cover charge if you’re a guy (50 cents) on Friday and Saturday nights. They’re usually pretty packed on the weekends, although beer is 75 and 80 cents for a 12-ounce glass. Wednesday is Ladies Night, free drinks for the women. If you live near Northgate, you’ve probably discovered the Burger Hut and the Dixie Chicken. Burger Hut is mainly a food place but they also have pool tables and foosball. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. longnecks bottles are 35 cents. Dixie Chicken CS Group Reviews Charter i The first meeting of the 1975 Col lege Station Charter Revision Committee was held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room of City Hall. The meeting was primarily or ganizational with M. L. Cushion being elected chairman and Ms. Rae Holleman, secretary. Annually, the committee is charged with reviewing the city charter and making changes if they | are necessary. Two main areas that the committee will be considering this year are setting dates for school board and city council elections, ' and changing means of elections from an at-large to a ward system. The committee desires input from the citizens, city employees and anyone that operates under the College Station charter. Any re commendations that the public has concerning the charter should be sent to City Hall. The committee’s next meeting will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend and express their views. A copy of the charter is on hand at City Hall. Members of the commit tee are citizens of College Station and are selected by the mayor with the approval of the city council. This year’s members are: Jerry Cooper, Steve Eberhard, Dr. Earl Bennett, J. B. Hervey, M. L. Cash- ion, Ms. Rae Holleman, Dr. Wil- born Benton, W. W. Scott, James Dozier and Neeley Lewis. offers free crackers with their beer. They have a variety of pinball, foos ball and pool games. If your folks are in town, and they want you to show them around, you might do best taking them to TJ’s. It’s a rustic-looking place with softer music and a selection of drinks. No specials except free cheese and crackers in the afternoons. The Silver Dollar, once a fairly popular place in town, hasn’t rated ' as high lately. They’re in for change, though, and plan a remodeling job for spring break. If you’re living out in the Planta tion Oaks — Briarwood area, there’s the neighborhood Pe thouse I. Every night, the unescorted ladies get 25 cent bar drinks. On Tuesday there is a 75 cent Collins special, Wednesday it’s a bourbon special. Thursday night they have a special exclusively for people living in their apartments. If you’ve made the 1 Batt Pressman Killed in Wreck A fatal traffic accident last Thursday brought sorrow close to home for The Battalion. One of the victims of a motor cycle crash in College Station was Bernard Francois. Bernie was a pressman’s assistant in the TAMU Printing Center, which prints The Battalion. He was riding his motorcycle with 14-year-old Cheryl Ann Com when the vehicle hit a utility pole on South Sims Street. He had bought the motorcycle on his 18th birthday, which was three days before the ac cident. Bernie was bom and raised in Bryan and attended Bryan High School. He had worked in the Print ing Center for six months, but in that short time he learned to handle The Battalion press efficiently.
