At New Orleans, the fish will march in exhibition at a Tulane drill meet in the Sugar Bowl, and in an evening parade that forms part of the Mardi Gras celebration. Commanded by Ken Donnely the 38-cadet unit will start third in a 400-unit parade on Saturday even ing. Last year’s Fish Drill Team was escort unit for Doc Sevrinson, en tertainer and NBC orchestra direc tor. “The main thing the fish will get is the experience of moving around among 200,000 people,” said Maj. James McElroy, sponsor. “It will put some pressure on the team.” The Friday appearance at the Sugar Bowl will not be in competi tion. Cherry Blossom Festival in March, but she doesn’i know why. The Texas Society of Washington D.C. is sponsoring the sophomore education major. “I don’t know who put up my name,” she said. “I think it was just a selection by the Texas Society.” The festival is March 31 through April 5, while the cherry blossoms are blooming. Each state is represented by princess in the festival. The queen is chosen by random through spinning a wheel. The itinerary for the women in cludes a congressional reception, a tour of Washington and tea at the Japanese embassy. The week ends with a grand ball at which the queen is selected. Thompson is a transfer student from Mount Vernon in Washington D.C. She is the daughter of Mayo Thompson ’41, president-elect of An ad-hoc sub-committee of the Student Government Judicial Board met Tuesday night to draft amendments to the constitution. The meeting, originally scheduled to be a general meeting, was revised to be termed a sub committee meeting because a quorum was not present. In the by-laws the committee changed the writ of injunction. Formerly the writ of injunction was valid until a hearing was requested. Under the proposed amendment a hearing may be requested but the status of the injunction would de pend on the decision of the hearing. In the standing rules of order the committee outlined step-by-step procedure for hearings. Another amendment outlined grounds for which the chairman of the J-Board could be removed. At present the chairman can be re moved and replaced by the Senate at will. Under the amendment the Chairman would have to resign, graduate or be removed on certain linn sities- grounds which are yet to be deter- f mined. They also proposed that the writ I of injunction and the writ of man- L damns be placed in the A&M stu- dent constitution. The committee further recom mended to get rid of Section 8 of the constitution which says that the J-Board should ratify any electionor referendum within two days. The proposed amendments will go up for ratification by the J-Board at 5 p.m. Tuesday. AUSTIN (AP) — The mugh- discussed three-hqlfe.golf cou rse and duck pond at University of Texas- Permian Basin may not have been illegal but it was bad judgment, in vestigators said Tuesday. UT Chancellor Charles LeMaistre released a summary of the investigation report but said he would have no comment “and I have suggested that other system ad ministration officials adopt a similar position.” Former UT-PB President B.H. Amstead resigned after being cleared by LeMaistre of charges that he deliberately misled the House Appropriations Committee in 1973 when he testified that he thought no state funds were used to build the golf course and pond on the Odessa campus. Later he said state funds were used. The Tuesday report said the total cost of the golf course, directly and indirectly, was $57,494. “Even though there were no ex penditures that would appear to be illegal, the administrative and fiscal judgment in handling this entire project is poor at the best,” said the report. UT administrators and auditors also looked into reports that Ams tead set up a private corporation to purchase recreational facilities for faculty and staff members. The in vestigation report said 33 persons were questioned and six said they did not join Faculty and Staff En terprise Inc. FASE voluntarily. Two of those interviewed said - they were told by Amstead their salaries would be raised to cover the $12 monthly dues to FASE. The re port said records do not show any increases. All information gathered by UT investigators has been turned over to the Ector County district attor ney. Another report released Tuesday covered the “excellence fund” maintained by a group of Odessa citizens to solocit funds to be used to benefit UT-PB. Even though these funds were expended at the discretion of the UT-PB administration in a manner they considered consistent with the best interests of an merging institu tion, the accounting for and utiliza tion of certain of these funds does not bear the stamp of good adminis trative judgment or fiscal manage ment,” the report said.
