A&M was on the short end of a 4-1 score at halftime. However, the second half saw the team play catch up very well only to be denied a full comeback by having a tying goal nullified. The referee called back a Ken Hubbard goal saying his stick could not penetrate the circle. Lacrosse rules state that a player may not enter the area or interfere with the goalie. However a player may use his stick in attempts to steal the ball or harass the goalie. This Saturday members of the Texas Lacrosse League will meet in the Rudder Tower at 11 a.m. to dis cuss plans and scheduling for next semester’s play. Les Matthews, an All-American goalie at John Hop kins, will lecture on goalkeeping and a slide show concerning lacrosse will also be featured. 15 points. The Huskies are now 0-3 for the season. When the Ags did break away from their sloppy play, Parker usu ally led the way. His hustle and strong rebounding performance seem to assure A&M as a strong competitor in the Southwest Con ference. The Aggies seemed to be kept alive by the hustling of Parker and the turnovers of the Huskies. Hous ton Baptist had 31 turnovers to the Ags 18. But the Ags couldn’t keep 6-11 Robert Paige and 6-9 Mack Coleman off the boards as they combined for 30 of HBC’s 47 re bounds. The Ags could only muster 41 caroms, mainly due to sloppy play in the second half. The Aggies only hit 42 percent from the field in the second half, but the Huskies hit a weak 37 per cent in a game marred by 48 combined team fouls. The firstTialf Aggie hus tle turned into second half sloppi- “Whatever I can do to help the team. I’ll do,’ Parker said. “Whether scoring or playing de fense. ” Lonnie Richards, head coach of HBC, said, “I felt we played good enough to win. I couldn’t have asked any more of these kids.” Coach Shelby Metcalf of the Ag gies said, “With the style we ll be playing, we ll have to use every body. We ll play a lot of pressure defense this season.” Staubach gets start DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Cowboy Coach Tom Landry said Tuesday that Roger Staubach will still he his quarterback in Saturday’s nationalh televised game with Cleveland al though sensational rookie Clint “The Mad Bomber” Longley might get some action.
