It only takes one look at 19-year-old Kim Tomes to know it s not another Aggie joke. Kim,.a sophomore physical edu cation major from Houston, won the contest this July. With her long blonde hair, tan ned skin, flashy smile and blue-gray eyes, you wonder if maybe you saw her on the Ultra-Brite commercial. “Tm a P. E. major and I intend to teach but first I’ll probably model. I model in the summer.” Besides winning clothes and scholarships, what is it like to be Miss Texas World. “Oh, I think it’s an honor really, ” said Kim. Has suc cess changed her lifestyle? “The only thing it’s changed is that I’ve gone many places and met some re ally neat people. There’s a chance for me to meet people from all over the United States. It’s fun and something different.” Kim left today for New York to compete against 49 other girls in the Miss USA World Pageant. If she wins, she’ll have to leave.” Kim and Lee, a freshman biology major from Houston, have known each other for about five years. “We met at a dude ranch in Bandera, Texas,” said Kim. Kim, a water person, enjoys swimming, water-skiing and surf ing. “I also play the guitar. I guess that’s about it,” she said. As the interview came to an end, Kim said, “I can’t wait to get out of this dress to put my blue jeans and tennis shoes on and ride my bicy cle.” What? No shirt??
