CADET SLOUCH by Jim Earle Listen Up— Yosufzai Welcomes Freshmen “I meant to say long- on the top and short on the sides!” Dear Fellow Aggies: I would like to take this op portunity to welcome you to Texas A&M University on behalf of the Student Body and the Student Government of this great institu tion. You are about to become part of a University blessed with a wealth of tradition. The Texas A&M Student Body is regarded as one of the most enthusiastic student bodies in the country and this enthusiasm is expressed in Sculptures (Continued from page 1) Works in the show range from table-top pieces a few inches in height to very large-scale pieces, some as much as 8 feet tall. Among the larger pieces is a con struction of weathered timber, as well as some natural sculptures of massive size. As an architect, Boyce received the Texas Forestry Association’s Architect Award in 1969 for his use of wood in the construction of a group of seven apartment units at the university. As a stu dent at A&M his thesis was a wood sculpture, “Silver Taps,” the only non-architectural thesis ever approved by the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. The exhibition in the Edmund Kirk showroom is Boyce’s first in Dallas. HEW Announces Ind . Ed .
