Returning from a most impres

Although only breaking even

faced some of the nation’s finest
basketball teams.
Coach Shelby Metcalf’s forces
deefated ranked Penn State (62-

the long road trip gave Oral

over A&M in Tulsa.
“I feel we are right on sched
ule as the way I hoped we’d
be going into conference play,”
Metcalf said in a press conference
Tuesday. “I’m pleased with our
development both mentally and
physically. We need to play well
against East Texas and polish up
on some things to be ready for
the conference opener against
Arkansas Saturday afternoon.”
Five players are averaging in
double figures for A&M this sea
son with junior Randy Knowles
leading the way with a 15 point
average, followed closely by Jeff
Overhouse with 14.5 and Mario

ric Joseph (11.5) and Mike Floyd
(11.3).
Joseph leads the team in re

far is free throw shooting with
a 73% team percentage hitting on
216 of 298 attempts. Floyd has
hit his last 25 in a row and set
a new Bluebonnet record by hit
ting 16 of 16 Saturday night
against Houston. Knowles leads
the team with a 91 percent mark
hitting 38 of 42. Floyd is second
with 88 percent hitting on 50 of
