Dr. M. P. Boyce, director of the Mechanical Engineering De partment’s Gas Turbine Labora tories, said the program includes practical engineering lectures and round-table discussions the first two days and advanced engineer ing papers the last day. He said the TAMU program will be the first attempt to bring together researchers and engi neers to exchange ideas. Thirty-eight speakers will ad dress the meeting, Dr. Boyce added. ★ ★ ★ Houston Post Editor Visits Journalists Such questions as “How much does a starting reporter make?” and “How much do you make?” got asked and — usually — an swered at A&M Tuesday. Journalism students asked the questions. They were answered by Edwin D. Hunter, vice presi dent and managing editor of the Houston Post. He spent the day in the Journalism Department as editor-in-residence. Hunter’s visit was sponsored by the American Society of Newspaper Editors and the Newspaper Fund. The editor-in-residence pro gram brings leading active news men to the campus to describe first-hand how newspapers try to meet their community responsi bilities, and to provide informa tion on the operation of newspa pers and on career opportunities in the field.
