All students of TAMU who have a child who will be five years old by September 1st and who live in College Station should contact the Superintendent's office, Jer sey 4 Anderson Streets, to see if their child will be el igible to attend the public kindergarten. E. Hierth. department head. Dr. Dennis A. Bert hold joins the faculty as assistant professor in American IHoraeture; Dr. Hel mut Esau, visiting assistant pro- fsaaor in linguistics, and Mrs. Paul Van Hiper, lecturer, for the 1972-73 school year. Berthold was formerly at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. He also taught at Savan nah State College and the Uni versity of Wisconsin, Madison. His B.A. and M.A. degrees are from the University of Cali fornia, Riverside, his Ph.D., the University of Wisconsin. The American literature spe cialist recently completed a bibli ography of William Bradford. Berthold, hie wife and daughter reside at 723 Inwood. Recently at UCLA, Professor also taught at the Uni- of Virginia. HU degrees are from Eastern Mennonite Col lege. Harrisonburg, Va.; Uni versity of Virginia and UCLA. He held n National Defense Fel lowship while completing the Ph.D. Esau’s interests include English and German linguistics. He has published several articles dealing with nominalUation and word order in German. He U married and has two chil dren. The faasily Uvea at 141| Caudill. Mrs. Van Riper has 15 teaching experience, in Miamil Fla., and Ithaca. N. Y., publi<[ schools and last year for Bltm College in Bryan. After attend-) ing Stephens College, she the B.A. at the University Miami. She received the master’ at Duke and has 90 hours addi-l tional graduate study.
