This Biomedical Technology Transfer Team (BATEAM) will apply aerospace technology gen erated by the National Aeronau tics and Space Administration to major problems in the field of cardiology. The team, based at Stanford’s School of Medicine, is under the direction of Dr. Donald C. Har- Weekend, night classes offered here for fall Evening and Saturday adult education teachers courses will be offered here this fall. The courses are part of an Adult Education Program initi ated last year by Texas A&M in cooperation with the Texas Edu cation Agency. Dr. Don Seaman directs the program. Campus courses in adult learn ing and adult basic education methods will be offered. Sea man said they will be taught from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturdays, respectively. Off-campus courses in the pro gram will be offered in Denton, Temple and Weslaco. They will enable adult educa tion teachers to improve their classroom and administrative work. The graduate credit courses can lead to a doctorate in adult education, the first such degree offered in Texas. Additional information can be obtained from Pavlos Roussos in the Adult Education Program of fice, Building C. course added L* for residence hall advisors A course for students in resi dence hall personnel work has been added to the Educational Psychology Department curricu lum for 1971-72. Department head Dr. Robert R. Reilley stressed that the course is open to all students who plan to work in residence halls on campus. He reminded that on- campus coed housing is planned next fall. Students who wish to enroll for the course, Education Psy chology, 485, may register for an add after checking with the departmental registration advis or to complete a schedule revi sion request. The course will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays this fall. Reil ley said it will supplement — not replace — training and learning opportunities advisors receive from supervisors. Under NASA con tract, the project is part of NASA’s Technology Utilization Program. The Stanford group, the fourth BATEAM established through out the country, is the first to be formed at a leading school of medicine. The Stanford program also is unique in that it will, for the most part, concentrate on prob lems in only one area, cardio vascular medicine. Several major medical centers on the West Coast will be contacted to obtain significant problems to work on, which may be solvable by NASA technology. The team will consist of five medical consultants and two ad ministrative staff members from the Medical School, as well as five aerospace engineering con sultants. In addition to Harri son, the medical consultants are Drs. Edwin Alderman, William Barry, David Cannom and Rich ard Crow, all from the Division of Cardiology at Stanford. Depu ty director of the program is Harry Miller, research associate and business manager of the di vision. NASA currently has eight sjn- cial teams charged with identi fying individual problems an 1 proposing solutions based o: aerospace technology. Four ol the teams concentrate on envir onmental problem areas. iiSli m fl pjjlfsi tel tei FomYiYiI NMMMfl ilMIM ItHIHl PHIH'l ilHtMl ilMMtf «HH| _ «mim| PhhhhA JHHHH# PtHHtMl iMIMMIff [v.v/.v/j |mm« mV.V.V.I |UM| IlHl HIM J Mini hhihI HHHll Ihhi |"H IllHHll • hum J I'HHlll Framed Pictures $ Pail 0-Rama $ BEAUTIFUL ASSORTMENT OF 1 l"xl4" FRAMED PICTURES - CHOICE i OF FRAMES STYLES. imTirrrm rmi n r Miss Breck HAIR SPRAY MYADEG GENERAL ELECTRIC STEREO $l MY- CITRACIN PORTABLE STEREO WITH 4- INCH SPEAKER AND DIAMOND STYLUS — A- SPEED CHANGER DIAMOND STYLUS. 5 ASSORTED PLASTIC UTILITY PAILS- DIFFERENT COLORS HI POTENCY VITAMIN AND MINERAL FORMULA 130 TABS imiinniLL CHOICE OF REGULAR EXTRA HOLD OR UNSCENTED 13 OZt TERRY TOWELS DYM0 TAPE MANHATTAN STRIPE DRESS-SPORT SHIRTS EMBOSSING TAPE-CHOICE OF COLORS- 3/ a " or V*" 3 Ring Folder|Report Covers!
