Williams announced the appointment Tuesday of Dr. Charles Pinnell as assistant to the president for planning and institutional analysis. Pinnell, who has served as the university’s director of planning and analytical studies since 1969, will move into the newly created position Sept. 1. In his present capacity, Dr. Pinnell has been involved in for mulating a comprehensive mas ter plan for growth of the uni versity. The plan includes prior ities for construction of addition al facilities, projected use of util ities, traffic planning and evalu ation of necessary financing in all areas. “Dr. Pinnell’s background and experience make him uniquely qualified for this new position,” Williams said. “He will play a key role in our efforts at Texas A&M to achieve the most effi cient and economical operation and to project our plant and pro grams ahead.” ★ ★ ★ Utilities plant has two new chillers Installation of two new 3,350- ton centrifugal chillers at the cen tral utilities plant has almost doubled the capacity for central air-conditioning on campus. Walter H. Parsons, physical plant director, said the additional capacity came just in time to ac commodate peak summer loads and to meet the requirements for the engineering center, scheduled for completion this fall. The extra 1,100 tons of air- conditioning needed for the new facility would have exceeded the capacity for the eight 1,000-ton absorption units which have been carrying all the load, Parsons not ed. A third 3,350-ton unit is on or der and will be installed next year, Parsons added. ★ ★ ★ Milk producers to meet here About 1,500 persons are expect ed for the annual meeting here of the Associated Milk Producers Inc., Southern Division, July 10. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. in Sbisa Dining Hall and will con tinue until mid-afternoon.
