The Premiere Players produc tion opens in the Fallout Theater at Guion Hall at 8 p.m. Thurs day, July 9, for a three-night run. Performances also are to be staged Friday and Saturday eve nings. Admission will be 50 cents per person. Director of the play about an eccentric old lady’s efforts to keep her money is Bob Wenck. The cast includes Frances Martin, Marcy Roman, Robin Cork, Cheri Lindquist, Jean Burch, Laura Barker, Mark Elmquist, Danny Foster, Gary Williams, Billy Smith and Karl Freund. Judith Fein of the Army Recruiting Main Station in San Antonio, Mrs. Pa tricia Self, coed advisor, and fam ily friends. The traditional congratulatory kiss established by Gen. William C. Westmoreland at the recent promotion of two WAC generals was given by Colonel Oates, a 23-year Army veteran. The late son of Colonel and Mrs. Oates, Eugene C. Ill, died in August, 1969, in a helicopter ac cident in Vietnam. Captain Oates was commissioned here in 1967 after receiving the bachelor de gree in civil engineering. He attended Ranger and jun gle warfare schools, the engineer officers basic course and served in Germany before going to Southeast Asia. Lieutenant Oates, who is work ing as a Texas Engineering Ex tension Service secretary, will re port Aug. 4 to Fort McClellan, Ala., for the 18-week WAC basic officer course, Captain Fein in dicated. It is possible during the two-year tour for WAC officers to get regular commissions, Cap tain Fein said. Grove Theater closes for exams Lieutenant Oates attended here, the University of Texas at Austin and North Texas State enroute to obtaining the pre-law degree here last spring. Along with a WAC officer career, she also is consid ering going to law school. The Grove Theater will be closed the remainder of this week for final examinations, reminded Richard McHenry, chairman of the Memorial Student Center Summer Directorate facility.
