Chandler got no sympathy from the umpire, however, and when two of his players, short stop Jim Raley and pitcher Pat Jamison joined in the argument they were ejected from the game. Rothe gave up only three hits fter that two of them singles n the eighth the rest of the way. le was also able to keep his astball down in the strike zone, n asset which allowed him to lake 14 of the 20 outs he re- orded on ground balls. Burt Hooton used this same venue to shut out the Aggies hursday in the game that clinch- i the title for Texas. Fifteen of the 27 outs in that game were ground outs. Texas jumped on Aggie starter Hardy Frazier for three runs in the second. Pat Amos walked and moved to second on a single by Beard. Mike Markl hit a grounder to third that took a bad hop past Danny Ragland scoring Amos. David Chalk then singled knock ing home the final two runs of the inning. The Aggies tied it in the third as Frazier led off with a single and Butch Ghutzman and Rusty Howard walked to load the bases. Dave Elmendorf’s single drove the first run across and Billy Hodge’s liner to left scored the other two. Bruce Katt replaced Frazier in the third and gave singles to the first two hitters, David Hall and Jack Miller. Hall scored on the play and Miller, who was knocked out for a short time, was ruled out. Aggie coach Tom Chandler who had protested a call in the second inning came back in the third to protest again. Shortstop Jim Raley, who added a few choice comments and pitcher Pat Jami son, who got in a few words from the bench, were both ejected in the rhubarb which lasted about 15 minutes. Texas scored its final run in the fifth with the aid of the only Aggie error in the three-game series. Langerhans doubled but was an easy out at third when he tried to move upon a ground ball to Katt by Amos but Katt threw the ball over Ragland and he scored. Charles Kelley pitched the final two innings for A&M and com pleted his season hurling 19% innings without giving up an earned run.
