Sponsored by Southwestern Life Insurance Co., the students were awarded scholarships to meet and explore leadership skills with 100 other college leaders. Denny Jr., La Porte junior. Kirby Blevins, a counselor in the Civilian Student Affairs Of fice, also will attend the seminar. More than 50 colleges and uni versities in the Southwest will have students participating in the institute, according to Southwest ern Life President William H. Seay. Seay said the institute seeks to project promising young campus leaders into responsible career leadership roles. A&M’s Leadership Conference, held last summer near Palestine, was conducted by the same group scheduled to speak in Dallas. The grand jury was denied access to the transcript. Future Farmers Plan Student-Prof Banquet Future Farmers of America will hold its annual Student-Pro fessor Banquet Friday at 7 p.m. in Sbisa Dining Hall. Dr. Herman Brown, associate professor in the Agricultural Ed ucation Department, said the ban quet will recognize outstanding students and a top professor. The event also promotes better relations between students and faculty. Awards will be made to the outstanding junior and senior in the chapter, with a $125 scholar ship going to the junior. The scholarship is based on need, chapter activities and over all grade point ratio. A Distinguished Service Award will be made to someone outside the university.
