(Photo by Mike Wright) Baseball Series Is Rescheduled This weekend’s scheduled base ball series between A&M and Baylor has been pushed back to Monday and Tuesday in accord ance with Southwest Conference rules, Aggie coach Tom Chandler said. Armed with the latest weather report which predicted poor con ditions for Friday and Saturday, Chandler called Baylor coach Dutch Schroeder Thursday after noon and reset the three games. SWC rules stipulate that rained out league games cannot be re scheduled except on the following Monday and Tuesday, and then only if the visiting team is noti fied before it leaves its home lo cation. If the Bears had made the journey from Waco Friday and the games could not be played, then the series would be dropped from the schedule. If the field is still unplayable Monday and Tuesday, the games will not be made up. The alteration in the schedule will have the Aggies playing Monday through Thursday next week. Following the Baylor se ries, Minnesota will come in for single games Wednesday and Thursday. The Aggies are off Friday and Saturday before play ing Missouri in a three-game set next Monday and Tuesday. Lefthander Doug Rau and Righthander Dave Benesh are slated to start Monday’s twinbill with Baylor. Rau, who has al lowed three hits and no earned runs in 12 innings thus far, will start the 7-inning opener at 1:30 p.m. Benesh, who has an earned run average of 0.82, will start the 9-inning second game. A&M probable batting order with batting averages: Larry Smith (.263), If; Butch Ghutzman (.190), 2b; Danny Rag land (.269), 3b; Billy Hodge (.375), c; Dave Elmendorf (.261), cf; Chris Sans (.235), lb; Jim Raley (.182), ss; Boyd Hadaway (.174), rf.
