Teer, who has gained national prominence as project leader for the Caesar Kle berg Chair of Wildlife iScience, is the new head of the Wildlife Sci ence Department. Dr. H. 0. Kunkel, dean of the College of Agriculture, said the appointment was effective this week. Teer, previously an asso ciate professor at A&M, will re ceive a full professorship Sept. 1 through previous action by the Board of Directors. Teer was named holder of the Kleberg Chair of Wildlife Science and leader of the Caesar Kleberg Foundation Research Program in 1967. Caesar Kleberg who died in the late 1940’s, was an associate of the famed King Ranch. The Department of Wildlife Science has developed an international reputation in verte brate systematic s. A 1950 graduate, Teer joined the staff in 1962 as assistant pro fessor of wildlife science and was made an associate professor in 1966. Laundry Plans Announced for Easter Break Changes in the bundle turn-in and pick-up dates for student laundry bundles, in effect for the Easter break, have been an nounced by George Hartsock, laundry manager. During the week of March 23- 27, laundry will be picked up on Monday and Tuesday for the en tire alphabet so long as bundles are placed in the laundry drops by 9 a.m. either day. These bun dles will be returned to the sub stations by 5 p.m. March 25. There will be no out-of-place charge during this week. During the week of March 30- April 3, Mondays schedule, Mc-R, can be turned in on Tuesday by 9 a.m. without an out-of-place charge. The regular schedule will be in effect for the remainder of the week. At its last meeting, the laun dry committee decided on a pro cedure for students who turn in their laundry on either Thursday or Friday and who must have their clothes for previously ap proved weekend work. These stu dents will be allowed to turn their laundry in on Wednesday and pick it up on Thursday. Affected students should com plete a form, obtain a letter fronl their employer, and submit them to the laundry committee for review. If approved, the letter “E” would be placed on the student’s laundry slip by the student him self along with his assigned num ber. Upon arrival at the pjant, the tag would be compared with a master list of excused students. The committee asked that in terested students contact their respective representative, whose name is posted at the students particular substation. Anthropology Department here has been approved by the Coor dinating Board, Texas College and University System. Dr. Horace R. Byers, academic vice president, said the new de partment will be part of the College of Liberal Arts. The university currently oper ates an Agricultural Economics and Sociology Department within the College of Agriculture. Dr. Byers said the new depart ment will be staffed by faculty who currently teach sociology in the existing department. The Agricultural Economics Department will continue to func tion as part of the College of Ag riculture, the vice president add ed. Festival 70 Ends Friday Crawford Dunn of Crawford Dunn & Associates of Dallas will highlight Festival 70 presenta tions here Friday. The Japanese film, “Woman and the Dune,” will conclude the Contemporary Arts Committee’s spring project at 8 p.m. the same night in the MSC Ballroom. Dunn, one of the nation’s lead ing consultants in corporate de sign, is sponsored by the Forum for Environmental Studies, stu dent chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He will give a presentation on “The Architecture of Communi cation” from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 208 Architecture, according to Joe Flores, FES-AIA president. Flores said that Dunn will also conduct a general lecture seminar in the labs on the second floor from 1 to 3 p.m. and will present a slide show, “A Europe People Never See,” in the auditorium from 3 to 5 p.m. Examples of the designer’s work will be on display in the building’s foyer.
