Page 6 College Station, Texas Wednesday, March 11, 1970 THE BATTALION Tankers In Dallas; Ducats On Sale Coach Pat Patterson and his Texas Aggie swimming squad leaves Wednesday morning for Dallas and the Southwest Con ference meet which runs Thurs day, Friday and Saturday at SMU. All of the league’s schools ex cept Baylor will be on hand for the three-day meet. Defending champion SMU is the meet fa vorite again with Texas ranked as the top challenger. AAM, Tex as Tech and Arkansas are rated a notch behind but any could finish as high as second. The Aggie squad will include Kim Blakeman, Bill Brimberry, Doug Carson, Randy Crosley, Co lin Dunn, Robert Dommel, Eddy Grant, Mike Hicks, Larry Jones, Don Leever, John McCleary, Hank Paup, Tom Sparks, Joe Stevens, Gordon Taylor, Eric Wolff, Steve Henry, Bill Stewart and John Allen. ★ ★ ★ Tickets for the Houston As tros’ first six baseball games in the Astrodome in 1970 are now on sale Astros ticket manager Dick McDowell has announced. The Astros will have three pre season games with the American League champion Baltimore Orioles at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, Wednesday and Thurs day, April 1 and 2, and three games with the New York Yan kees, at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4 and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5. Prices will remain the same as they’ve always been since Hous ton joined the major leagues in 1962. Box seats are $3.50, re served seats $2.50 and pavilion seats $1.50. Tickets will be on sale at the Astrodome advance ticket win dows at Murworth and Kirby, at Foley’s five locations, and at Tex as International ticket counters in the Rice and Sheraton Lincoln Hotels in downtown Houston- Sam Houston Gymnasts Dump Aggies, 113.7-105.4 The Sam Houston State Uni versity gymnastics team defeated the Texas A&M gymnasts in Huntsville Thursday night. The Bearcats out-pointed the Aggies 113.7 to 105.4 to avenge a loss to A&M last season. Point totals in the meet for the Aggies were Ray Broussard 19.8, Jaque Stratton 16.1, Lee Reeves 15.2, Barret Smith 12.5, Andy Scheidelmantle 10.5, Bill Wood 6.0, Rex Stratton 5.7, Tom Furlow 5.7, Harry Henderson 4.9, Bill Wiley 4.9 and Phil Pence 4.1. Individual standouts for the Aggies were Reeves, Pence, Broussard, Smith, Scheidemantle and Furlow. Reeves took first place in the long vault and horizontal bar. Pence finished second in total points for the meet with 21,1 points although only 4.1 of the Freshman’s points counted to ward the team total. Broussard placed second in the parallel bars and Barret Smith J was runnerup in the^ings.
