Second Installment Due by Oct. 22 The second installment board payment for the fall semester is due by Oct. 22 to avoid penalty, according to the Fiscal Office in the Richard Coke building. Payment is made to the Fiscal Office and is $84 for the 7-day board plan and $76 for the 5- day plan. Freshman Ag Ed Major Wins $500 Grant Michael R. Abrameit of Goliad, freshman agricultural education major, has received the $500 V. G. Young Scholarship in recognition of academic achievement and ac tivities in high school. Dr. D. C. Pfannstiel, assistant director of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, made the pre sentation. The scholarship memorializes V. G. Young, assistant director of the Extension Service who died last June after about 35 years with that agency. While in high school, Abrameit participated in the 1967 State 4-H Roundup, was Goliad County Gold Star Boy in 1967, received the Lone Star Farmer Degree and was president of his FFA chap ter. He also was vice president of the National Honor Society and president of the Student Council. Health Ed Seminar Scheduled To Begin Tuesday in Library THE BATTALION Wednesday, October 15, 19,69 College Station, Texas Page 3 Health education seminars, fea turing American Medical Associ ation and State Department of Health representatives and other medical authorities on a variety of subjects, begin here Tuesday. Sponsored by the Health and Physical Education Department, the seminars are conducted for A&M’s graduate and undergradu ate level health education majors and are public-free presentations, announced Dr. Carl W. Landiss. The department head said the Tuesday seminar featuring Dr. Wallace Ann Wesley of AMA’s Health Education Division will be at 4 p.m. in the university library conference suite (Room 226). Dr. Wesley’s topic will be “Why Health Education?” On Nov. 7, Dr. Robert White, associated with the Neurology and Psychiatry Department of the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, will speak on “Coping with Fatigue, Tension and Frustration.” An authority on psychedelic effects of LSD, Dr. J. Thomas Ungerleider of UCLA’s Neuro- Psychiatric Institute, will discuss Dec. 3 whether the college en vironment enhances drug abuse. “Prevention of Dental Diseases” will be the topic of Miss Cynthia Hall of the Texas State Depart ment of Health for a Jan. 8 health education seminar. Miss Hall is health education consultant with the state department’s Dental Accident Causes $500 In Damages Willis McGowan, an A&M stu dent, was reported uninjured after a traffic accident Wednes day at the intersection of Jersey and Highway 6 in College Station. McGowan was passing through the intersection when his car was struck from the side by one driven by Mrs. May Mason, a College Station housewife. McGowan’s car sustained $300 damages, Mrs. Mason's $200. Health Division. All but the last seminar will be 4 p.m. presentations at the libra ry.
