Haw kins. Thirteen students in 15-minute driving sessions polled 200 “un safe driving acts,” Hawkins said. Failure to use signals when turning and making lane changes was the most prevailing bad habit, he noted. Hawkins, professor of indus trial education, added the unsafe acts point out “a failure of drivers to communicate with other drivers.” “PEOPLE are making mistakes in their driving habits and are getting hurt,” he emphasized. “They do not communicate with other drivers in time for the other drivers to adjust to their maneuvers.” See You At Ralph's Tonight BATTALION CLASSIFIED FOR SALE Senior Boot Bags. 845-6593 or sold at Holicks. 10414 Two large living room chairs, excellent condition. 823-0631. 104t2 1967, 12 x 62, two bedroom mobile home. 18 Lakeside. The students recorded 62 fail ures to use signals, followed by 34 speeding offenses. Following too closely rated third and turn ing from a wrong lane was fourth. Other poor habits observed in cluded failure to stop for red lights, driving in another’s blind spot, crossing over median, fail ure to stop for stop signs and weaving in and out of traffic. CADET SLOUCH by Jim Earle “I thought we should experiment and compare having a hose jock instead of a whistle jock to wake up th’ outfit!” Theft, Vandalism Being Investigated Campus Security is investigat ing a theft at the Air Force Ball Saturday night and vandalism in the A&M Library Friday night. Officer J. D. Gossett said Wednesday a $700 check and $30 in cash had been taken at Satur day night’s ball in Duncan Dining Hall. He noted that the bank where the account was held has been notified to withhold payment on the check. “The money was taken /from a cigar box in the kitchen of the dining hall, and so far no finger prints or other clues have been found,” Gossett said. The library was vandalized Friday night but evidently the person or persons who committed thfe . dct didn’t take anything of value, Gossett noted. He added that damage consisted of two broken windows in the faculty study room of the library, a picture damaged in the docu ments room, and several elevator knobs broken. He noted that fingerprints had been taken, and that other clues were being followed up by Cam pus Security. Gossett reported also that the number of dorm thefts had de creased this month with the arrest of a student who admitted several of the residence hall thefts. The student’s name is being withheld at Campus Security request. pe rma-crease Weatbury Slacks |(tm Starnes unibersttp men’* toear 82B University Drive TlS/84«-27M Collette Station, Texas 77840 f^azor a C^dfye Barbering and Styling Gene Verwold, Herb Fedora, Charles Stubbs, Jr. Wee Village Shopping Center 4018 Stillmeadow & 29th Phone 846-5600 STUDY IN CUERNAVACA Learn to speak SPANISH • Intensive courses, with drills, supervised labs, and theory taught by experienced Mexican teachers. • $ 135 per month.
