Construction of the 4,000- square-foot clubhouse will begin this week and be completed by mid-summer, university officials said. Larry Hughes, track represent ative, has encouraged all athletes to attend this and all Thursday night meetings of the FCA. All are in the Letterman’s Lounge. “The purpose of the FCA,” Hughes said, “is to confront ath letes and coaches, and through them the youth of the nation, with the challenge and adventure of following Christ and partici pating in His church.” Hughes points out that since the beginning of the FCA here, membership has grown to over 100. These members have spoken at several schools, youth rallies, banquets and weekend youth re vivals across the state on Chris tianity. “The FCA has been very in fluential in extending Jesus Christ throughout the nation,” Hughes said. To be installed tonight are President Jimmy Adams, foot ball; Vice-Presidents Len Odom, football; Ronnie Lightfoot, track; and Ozzie Burke, handball; and Secretary-Treasurer Jack Whit more, football. Hughes will be publicity chair man; Rusty Stallings, football, song leader; Arthur “Prof” Smith, religious adviser, and Barney Welch, lay adviser. Menu Committee To Meet Friday The Civilian Student Menu Committee will meet with uni versity food service officials at noon Friday in Sbisa Dining Hall to discuss dining operations, an nounced Edwin H. Cooper, direc tor of civilian student activities. Any civilian student desiring to offer suggestions about the dining operation is invited to con tact one of the committee mem bers and attend the luncheon meeting as his guest, Cooper said.
