B-CS Chamber Gives $1,000 To A&M The Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce presented Texas A&M a $1,000 check for use in any manner deemed ap propriate by the university. Chamber President Bookman Peters formally presented the contribution during brief cere monies in the office of A&M President Earl Rudder. The local organization of mer chants and businessmen has made similar awards to A&M for sever al years. Peters said he antici pates at least one other contri bution this year. Rudder noted previous cham ber contributions were used in part to allow university person nel to visit high schools through out the state and encourage the top students to attend A&M. E.E. Scholarship Recipients Named Electrical engineering majors James H. Davis of Fort Stockton and William F. Floyd of Nava- sota were named Bolton award and scholarship recipients in de partmental awards presentations Tuesday at Texas A&M. Floyd, a junior EE major, re ceived the $300 F. C. Bolton scholarship for the 1968-69 school year. A graduating electrical engi neering senior, Davis was pre sented a $125 award and engraved watch by Dr. W. B. Jones, de partment head. Dr. Bolton was an electrical engineering professor and de partment head, engineering dean and president of A&M. Awards in his name are supported by contributions of former students. Davis and Floyd were selected on the basis of scholastic achieve ment, student activities and leadership. Awards by the A&M chapter of Eta Kappa Nu, electrical en gineering honor society, recog nized the outstanding sophomore, Harold Jackson of Marshall, and junior who has shown the most improvement in the last year, Miguel Vails Jr. of Laredo. The EKN and Institute of Elec trical and Electronic Engineers student chapters also recognized faculty members for outstanding teaching and leadership. The first Eta Kappa Nu chap ter award is shared by Dr. John P. German and Clifford H. Ray. IEEE honored Albert J. Druce. Caroyl Winstead is the daughter 1 of Mr. and Mrs. :: Eugene Mansell of Normangee, Texas, and is al so a graduate of the Normangee High School. She registered for the Secretarial Course at Mc Kenzie - Bald win B u sine s s College and is working now for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as Operating Clerk and Assistant bookkeeper. Donna Kaye Santana, 1912 Rus sell Drive, Bry an, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John San tana. After graduation from Stephen F. Aus tin High School she enrolled for the Secretarial Course at Mc Kenzie - Bald win Business College. She is now employed at the Univer sity National Bank of College Station, Texas.
