Texas A&M’s service frater
nity, Alpha Phi Omega, has
created both national and state
wide history in the past weeks.
On the national level, the A&M
chapter is the first APO chapter
to open a branch chapter off its
main campus. The Aggies opened
their branch chapter at the Tex
as Maritime Academy in Galves
ton.
The advisors for this new
branch chapter are Rear Admiral
James D. Craik, U. S. Coast
Guard (Ret.), superintendent of
the Maritime Academy, and Al
fred R. Philbrick, Jr., master of
the Academy’s ship Texas Clip
per and the executive officer of
the Academy. Serving as presi
dent of the new chapter is Ed
Hamilton.
Since Alpha Phi Omega is a
service fraternity, the Xi Delta
branch chapter has already begun
a schedule of projects to benefit
the school and the Maritime
Academy students.
Under the leadership of Ed
Hamilton, the chapter has begun
a campus clean-up and painting
project to improve the appearance
of the school.

of highway bridge railings has
been awarded to Texas A&M’s
