The occasion will be a four team meet with the Aggies hosting Southern Methodist University, Texas Tech and Texas Christian University. SMU AND TCU competed against each other last weekend in Fort Worth with Arkansas providing third team opposition. SMU took first in the meet with 73 points while TCU finished second with 53. AGGIE WEIGHTMEN George Resley (left) and Ronny Lightfoot, heir-apparents to Randy Matson’s SWC shotput supremacy, have lived up to expectations. The husky twosome have been one-two in every meet that the Aggie track team has entered this year. Thoraton took the 100-yard dash with a 9.7 clocking and the 220 in 21.7 while Utecht won the high hurdles in 14.4 and the intermediates in 59.9. Pacing the Aggie’s effort should be the reliable team of weightmen Ronny Lightfoot, George Resley and freshman Kelvin Korver. The threesome placed one-two-three in last weekends Baton Rouge meet. LIGHTFOOT’S winning toss was 55-1 while Resley was only three quarters of an inch behind. Also expected to contribute strong performances for Coach Thomas are hurdler Jack Abbott and broad jumper Lonnie Noel. Abbott won the Baton Rouge high hurdles in 14.2, two-tenths of a second under Utecht’s time, and Noel took second with a leap of 23-8.
