March 8, with the annual Junior Engineerinff Technical So ciety Conference followed by High School Career Day. Career Day ie the yearly effort of the Engine er*’ Council to acquaint the pro spective freshman with thd super ior facilities of AAM’e CoUpge of Engineering. Each department in the College of Engineering will display what their respective de partment encompasses, and pro vide a guided tour of each depart ment’s facilities. Harry E. Bovay, president of the Texas Society of Professional EiMTineent, will address the senior engineering students at 4 p.m. on March 14 in a seminar on profee-. sional engineering in the Archi tecture Lecture Room. The pur. pose of this and other seminars ie to encourage young engineers to join their peers in promoting the engineering profession by be- ' ooming Registered Professional Engineers. The Engineers’ Council will sponsor a picnic and steak fry at Henael Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 16 with serving times from 11-1 p.m. Since the picnic is sandwiched between the Association and Junior Ball, it is advised to bring a date. Ticketa are $1.50 and are available through the Dean of Engineer ing's Office or various depart mental offices, including ME, IE, EE, lEd, CE, ChE, and Aero. In terdepartmental competition and. eliminations will include a tug-of- war and a volleyball game. Keynote idea of the Engineers' Week will be the fact that St Patrick was an engineer. J FLY NET Bryan Teacher Elected Officer Of State Group Luby LeNorman of Bryan was re-elected secretary-treasurer of the Texas Industrial Arts Associ ation in its 21st conference at Texas A&M. LeNorman t e h c h e s industrial arts at S. F. Austin High and was elected to serve the 1,000-member state Association with two other officials. Elected president for 1968-69 was Neal'-Ballard of Abilene and vice president is Ronald Foy of Snyder. Ballard succeeds T. L. Bay of Braxo«port, who was hon ored as TIAA’s outstanding teach er of the year in Texas. The annual conference is co sponsored by ABM's Industrial Education Department, headed by Dr. Everett R.
