Three one-act plays featuring Bryan and College Sttaion actors and actresses are set Friday and Saturday nights in Texas A&M’s Fallout Theater. Cynthia Smith, a senior dra matics minor, ist he director for “A Well-Remembered Voice,” ‘‘Two’s Company,” and “Eliza and the Lexicon.” Written by J. M. Berry, “A Well-Remembered Voice” spot lights a quartet of Aggie Players, including Chick Rose, Lee Wolf- son, Sandra Rose and Jim Wey- henmeyer. and Scott Wilson. Cast for “Eliza and the Lexi con,” written by Robert A. Greene, includes Judy Elmquist, Richard Pate and Becky Upham. Parking facilities include new spaces for 660 cars in an area just west of the main campus. Two rows of cars can be parked in the area running from the A&M baseball field to the over pass at Farm Road 60. “Two’s Company” by Maryjean Perry has a cast of three— Heather Gaines, Richard Stewart Curtain for the first play is 8 p.m. Roger Williams has charge of makeup for the plays. Campus Security Chief Ed Powell estimates that 50 per cent of the students who enroll at A&M in the fall will bring cars. Texas A&M Security Chief Ed Powell and his 10-man force will be commissioned peace officers Friday morning under new au thority granted by the Texas Leg islature. The ceremonies mark the state’s first implementation of Senate Bill No. 162 which authorizes campus security personnel to en force all general and criminal laws of the State of Texas. Chief Powell said the cere monies, set for 10 a.m. in Room 205 of the Military Science Build ing, will be performed during the closing session of a week-long training school for 65 campus se curity officers from throughout the state. The training session, first of two planned by the Police Train ing Division of A&M’s Engineer ing Extension Service, empha sizes the campus security officer’s new responsibilities and author ity. In essence, the new authority elevates the campus security of ficer from the status of night watchman to a full officer of the law. Chief Powell explained.
