Sorry, no girls. By MIKE PLAKE Battalion Staff Writer Texas A&M’s Baptist Student Union will welcome college stu dents from over the state April 15 to a hamburger supper and Intercollegiate Talent Show. “We expect representatives from the Universtiy of Texas, North Texas State University, Tarleton State College, Southern Methodist Universtiy, Lamar State College of Technology, and Baylor University,” Mrs. Linda Magowan, assistant director, said. “Tickets for the event are one dollar “for all you can eat and for the show too,” according to Mrs. Magowan. “We will be selling tickets here at the Center until noon Thurs day before the event. There will also be ticket salesmen in front of Sbisa Dining Hall during the next two weeks at the supper hours,” she added. Two highlights of the show will be Patricia Anne Hill, Bryan co ed, singing “The Shadow of Your Smile,” and a girls’ trio from Stephen F. Austin State College with a medley of folk songs. Skip Maenche, member of A&M’s Sing ing Cadets, will emcee the pro gram. Money from ticket sales and recent work days at the BSU will help finance the international Texas BSU Summer Missions program. “In this effort, college students selected from nearly every state in the U.S. will travel to seven different foreign countries, and through half of the fifty United States,” Joe Womack, BSU mis sions chairman at A&M, said. “They act in every capacity from evangelist to technician, Sunday School teacher to con struction worker. “For ten weeks without pay except for expenses, the summer missionaries share in the hard ships and happiness encountered by “real-life missionaries,” he continued. “The goal for the Texas BSU Convention is $20,000, larger than ever before. And our goal of $600 is an integral part.” Industrial Arts Fair Scheduled At A&M May 5-6 Texas A&M will host the Texas Industrial Arts Student Associa tion Fair May 5-6, announced fair chairman Dr. James L. Boone. Dr. Boone predicted participa tion by 800 students from 75 Texas High Schools. Boone is a member of A&M’s Industrial Education faculty. Student contests are planned in technical speaking, woodwork ing, metalworking, electronics, technical writing, plastics and drafting. • Other competition involves projects built in industrial arts classes by students. They range from wrought silver earrings to five-piece bedroom suits. Plaques are to be awarded to first place winners in each divi sion. Other winners are due ribbons. Boone said the public is invited to view the student projects be tween 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., May 6, in DeWare Field House. Officers and a sweetheart for 1967-68 will be selected during the association convention May 5. They will be introduced to stu dents during an awards luncheon May 6 at Sbisa Hall.
