Luce to brief cadets Monday with slides, commentary, and question-answer session on careers in logistics. Read Classifieds Daily A special landscape design study by the School of Architec ture has been accepted for use by the Texas Department of Correc tions in Huntsville. Ten students in Prof. Robert F. White’s third-year landscape de sign class presented the six-week study Thursday to A. G. McKain, construction assistant for the TDC. McKain indicated work will be gin this spring to implement pro posals of the class. Included in the study was a re vised site plan for landscaping the new TDC administration building area near the main pris on unit. Other facets of the pro ject concern construction details, a planting plan, and perspective sketches. “The study gave our students good practical experience,” White said. “They met the client, dis cussed problems involved in the project, and gained new insight into planting designs.” In accomplishing the study, the class first visited the site to learn existing conditions, then toured the TDC nursery to determine available planting materials. Each student developed individ ual ideas for three weeks before the class selected a scheme and worked as a team to complete the project. Landscaping will include plant ings of Live Oaks, Shumard Red Oaks, Japanese Star Jasmine, Rotund Holly, Yew Podocarpus, White Redbuds and White Crepe- myrtle. Other recommendations of the study call for a number of side walks for better pedestrian circu lation, and patio space near the concession building to accommo date crowds during rodeo seasop. The Post Report Continued from page 2 arguments among students, whenever truly important issues merit them. The outgrowth of these and similar activities is that intangible asset so necessary for a true college edu cation: the development of the ability to form intelligent opinions. It is what President Rudder undoubtedly has in mind when he discusses his goal of developing the ‘‘whole man.” It is, moreover, the antithesis of the apathy that Jerry Lockett reported in his story. m RAMADA INN Sunday Buffet Your full choice of our complete buffet, consisting of 75 to 80 choice selected items each Sunday, ADULTS — CHILDREN — $1.25 Alternating Foreign Specialty Table Each Week Bryan - College Station 846-8811 RAMADA' INN engineers- grow with the company that’s "out front” in energy conversion Pictured below is an engineer's console used in modern computerized electric power generation.
