LP) — Six Olympians, including ace miler Jim Grelle and shotput king Ran dy Matson, headline the seventh Will Rogers Indoor Games Friday night. Greele, the record holder here at 4.11.7, will go against ex-Tex as miler Richard Romo in the fea ture race. Both have dipped be neath the four-minute mark — in fact, Greele has cracked it more than 20 times. New Mexico’s John Baker, a winner at Lubbock last month, is a third entrant in the event. Another sellout crowd of 7,000 is expected to jam Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum to watch Mat- son go after his 1964 record here of 65 feet 8% inches. “He likes to throw indoors,” said Matson’s coach, Charlie Thomas of Texas A&M. “He likes to have a lot of peo ple around ... up close. It helps build his ego. He’s really excited about the meet.” Other Olympic veterans are John Thomas, Ralph Boston, Mel Pender and Tom Farrell. Thomas and Boston both hold Will Rogers records — Thomas in the high jump at 6-9 and Bos ton in the broad jump at 24-8 Vz. Boston, vowing to improve on his performance here, also will run the 60-yard high hurdles, an event he also wins frequently. Johnny Morriss of Houston is favored. Mel Pender, sixth in the Olym pic 100 meters at Tokyo, returned recently from Vietnam and promptly wqn the 50-yard dash at Boston. He’ll run the 60 here. The event also drew former Southwest Conference titleholder Ralph Alspaugh and two out standing Baylor sprinters, Wayne Brandt and Clyde Peach. Farrell was one of several late entrants. Twice an NCAA 880 champion, he will compete here in a fine 600-yard dash field that includes Mark Frye of Texas I for 9 L0< 29' ,49* ,49* .29* 25' ,29* 10* ,35* 9< 35* 29* When we say we want people for the outer limits, this isn’t what we have in mind. Forget science fiction. We’re talking about the “outer limits” of technology. And these days it can be even more exciting than science fiction. Right now IBM needs qualified men and women to help reach these outer limits. The kind of people who have made IBM the leader in today’s fastest-growing major industry: in formation handling and control. And the kind of people who can grow with us as far as their talents and abilities allow. The result? Greater personal responsibility and recognition; the dual satisfaction of per sonal achievement and continuing personal rewards. A pretty satisfying result. Job opportunities at IBM are in six major areas: Computer Applications, Programming, Finance and Administration, Research and Development, Manufacturing and Marketing. Whatever your immediate commitments, whatever your area of study, sign up now for an on-campus interview with IBM, February 16,17. If, for some reason, you aren’t able to arrange an interview, drop us a line. Write to: Manager of College Recruiting, IBM Corporation, Room 810, 1447 Peachtree Street, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30309.
