He saw limited duty, some even at tackle, in a season that was almost frus trating for him. He was playing strange places because the Aggies were searching for bodies to fill positions last year. When spring practice rolled around, Ronnie soon made his presence felt at fullback. He im proved tremendously and this fall he and Dan Schneider waged a see-saw battle for starting hon ors. Ironically, last week at LSU both had gimpy legs and erst while halfback Bill Sallee started at fullback. Ronnie was a 10-second dash man in the 100 at Hallettsville High and ran on the 440 relay team. The broken foot and hurt leg may have slowed him a little but if he hits daylight against TCU he could go all the way. Lindsey is one of several Aggie gridders who is in the military corps. He is executive officer of Co. H-l. “When I came to A&M I figured I would have to enter military service in four or five years and I decided I wanted to go in as an officer.” Ronnie played in the high school all-star game after his sen ior season in high school and he was a regular halfback on the A&M Fish team of 1963. He broke loose for the touchdown that beat Texas, 7-0, in Austin that year. Then his next touch down came against Tulane this season. It was a long dry spell in the scoring department, but then not many Aggie backs scored the past several years. This year, after four games, A&M has tallied 58 points and Ronnie is the only player with two touchdowns. He doesn’t really care who gets the touchdowns Saturday night, just so the Aggies put enough points on the scoreboard to beat TCU.
