Baylor guard Tommy Hatfield sank a free throw with 12 sec onds left to give the Bears the victory. Texas Tech led in the first half until 3:58 when Hatfield sank a set shot from 20 feet out to put the Bears out front 34-32. They led from that point to the half. At intermission Baylor was ahead 44-38. After intermission, the Bears continued their lead until 2:13 was left, when Tech’s Norman Reuther sent his team out front 78-76. The lead was short-lived when Baylor’s Jimmy Turner sank two foul shots to put the Bears ahead again 82-80 with 28 seconds left on the clock. Hatfield sank his foul shot to make the score 83-80 and then after another Baylor foul shot miss by Russell Kibbe, Tech’s Bobby Measells drove the length of the court for a layup without opposition. There were only two seconds left. Reuther flipped in 26 points for Tech and was high man of the game. Darrell Hardy led Baylor with 23 points. ★ ★ ★ Hogs Defeat TCU, 91-73 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. <•<*»> — Arkansas missed only six of its 27 shots in the second half and rolled to a 91-73 Southwest Con ference basketball victory over Texas Christian Tuesday night. The Razorbacks hit on 65 per cent of their shots from the field, a school record. The Horned Frogs stayed in the game most of the first half. The teams were tied six times and the lead changed five times before Arkansas went ahead for good with 7:58 left in the half, at 22-21. The Porkers took a 43-36 lead into the intermission. Five Razorbacks scored in double figures, led by Ricky Sugg and John Talkington with 19 each. Leading the Frogs were Gary Turner with 19 points and Way ne Kreis with 18. The 65 per cent shooting per formance erased a mark of 57 per cent, set against Baylor in the 1963-64 season. The victory gave Arkansas a 6-5 SWC record, and TCU is 4-7 in league play. 1966 AGGIELAND PICTURE SCHEDULE All Pictures To Be Taken At The University Studio Co-eds Any co-ed who wishes to have her picture in the Aggieland ’66 should have it taken at her earliest convenience. HOUSTON <A>) — The Uni versity of Texas broke Rice Uni versity’s one - game winning streak Tuesday night, taking a comfortable 91-82 decision over the luckless Owls. Texas’ sixth Southwest Confer ence victory in 11 games de flated the Owls, who won their first game last week against Baylor after 28 straight losses. The Longhorns held a mere one-point lead, 42-41, at the half but began rolling after intermis sion when Paul Olivier dropped in seven quick points. Texas had gained the lead for good, 47-45, on the second of Olivier’s three goals. Soon the score jumped to 51-48 and the Horns collected 10 consecutive points. During the first half, the lead changed 17 times and the score was tied six times. Texas, un able to slow down Doug McKen- rick, managed a lead of no more than four points until the final minute of the half, when Mike Gammon and Dale Dotson pushed Texas to 42-37 with 50 seconds left. But the Owls retaliated be fore the buzzer sounded with Larry Miller’s jumper with 32 seconds to go and Guy Lease’s goal with just three seconds left, making the halftime score 42-41. The Owls never regained enough momentum the second period.
