The man who directed the de fending champions to another title in the Eastern Division, re ceived 10 votes and Alworth drew eight. Paul Lowe, San Die go’s fine running back, polled four votes and one went to Bob by Bell, Kansas City’s out standing linebacker. One mem ber of the panel did not vote on this category. Gino Cappelletti, Boston pass catcher and place kicker, was voted the Most Valuable Player in the league last year. The Bills, Chargers Dominate All-Star Team NEW YORK (A>) _ The Buf falo Bills and San Diego Charg ers, who will meet for the sec ond straight year in the Ameri can Football League’s title game Dec. 26 at San Diego, Calif., dominate the AFL All- Star team picked for The Asso ciated Press by 24 sports writ ers. The panel, including three from each league city, placed six Buffalo players on the 22- man squad and five San Diego men. Kansas City had four; Denver, Houston and Oakland two each and Boston one. New York did not put a man on the first team. Quarterback Jack Kemp and guard Billy Shaw were the only members of the defending champion Bills on the offensive unit, but tackle Tom Sestak, linebacker Mike Stratton and defensive backs Butch Byrd and George Saimes gave Buffalo four places on the defensive team. Flanker Lance Alworth, run ning back Paul Lowe and tackle Ron Mix of San Diego were named on offense, and the fear some pair of end Earl Faison and tackle Ernie Ladd made it on defense. Alworth, recognized as one of the best flankers in football, if not the best, was a unanimous choice.
