Werth, a fifth year architectural design student at Texas A&M, has been awarded a $1,000 Jesse H. Jones Scholarship. The scholarship was announced through the Texas Architectural Foundation by Houston Endow ment, Inc. Similar awards went to Texas Tech and University of Texas students. i Charles E. Three Ags To Attend Journalism Conclave The A&M chapter of Sigma Delta Chi, national professional journalistic society, will send three student delegates and an advisor to the national convention to be held Nov. 10-13 in the Bilt- more Hotel at Los Angeles. The official delegate from the chapter is Glen Dromgoole, also chapter president and regional student vice-president. The other two delegates will be Gerald Garcia and Hamilton McQueen. Advisor for the trip will be Dr. David R. Bowers, associate pro fessor of journalism. Girl Scout Leaders Elect Officers Twenty-one leaders and mothers attended a meeting of the College Station Girl Scout Neighborhood Association Monday evening in the parish hall of St. Thomas Chapel. The newly-formed association is composed of twenty-two Col lege Station troops. Officers elected at the meeting include chairman, Mrs. E. S. Webb; scribe-reporter, Mrs. J. G. H. Thompson; record-keeper, Mrs. iMI. C. Schroeder; troop organizers, Mrs. O. O. Haugen, Mrs. J. D. Dodd, and Mrs. R. S. The center moved from the Old Aggieland Inn to room 107 of the Academic Building in June. College students interested in study in Europe during the winter, spring and summer terms are invited to apply now for Michigan State University pro grams beginning in 1966. Offered by the American Lan guage and Education Center of iMSU’s Continuing Education Service, informal and economical programs are scheduled for Paris, France; Lausanne and Neuchatel, Switzerland; Florence, Italy; Co logne, Germany, and Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. Winter programs start Jan. 10, and the spring programs, April 18, with the exception of the Madrid course which begins April 11. The deadline for winter term applications in Dec. 10, and for spring term, March 18. Details for the summer credit and informal courses will be avail able soon. The programs will feature classes in conversation, composi tion, grammar and reading. Par ticipants will also visit points of historic and geographic interest, which become the topics of lec tures and seminar-type discus sions covering cultural, political, social and economic institutions of the country in which they are residing. To promote the use of the for eign language and to provide them with opportunities to better understand their European con temporaries, American partici pants will attend classes and share living accommodations with students from many countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Switzer land and Great Britain.
