4rea Deer Season Opens
Deer season will open in Brazos County Saturday and will
close at dusk Dec. 31, said Jack Woodford, District Chief of
the Forestry and Wildlife Department of Brazos County.
Hunters must have a license which will have three tags
on the bottom to be attached to the deer he kills, Woodford
said.
Each hunter is allowed three deer. However, only two
of these can be bucks, Woodford explained. In order to kill
a doe or an anterless buck, hunters must receive a doe permit
from the owner of the lease where they are hunting. If the
hunter obtains three doe permits, he can kill three does or
anterless bucks.
Hunters should remember that although it is legal to use
a .22 rifle, it is illegal to use a rimfire cartridge in the rifle,
but centerfire cartridges are legal.
Woodford said Thursday that the population of White
Tail deer was average in the county this year and urged
hunters to use safety precautions.

‘Death Of Satan’
Nears Conclusion
The devil gets his due for the
fifth and sixth times as the Aggie
Players' “The Death of Satan”
heads into its final pair of per
formances Friday night and Sat
urday in Guion Hall.
The Players, presenting what is
believed to be the United States
premiere of the satire of contem
porary life by Ronald Duncan, have
played to steadily increasing aud
iences since Monday.
Director C. K. Esten, who had
to write to a publishing company
in England to get the script for
the play, says he is pleased with
the Players’ performances, and he
feels the audiences have been, too.
