MAIN BRYAN SWC Meeting Does Nothing As Usual Representatives of the Southwest Clique met over the holidays to discuss recruiting violations and the University of Snook’s applica tion for membership in the elite eight-member group. “We had the meeting in La- Grange to avoid outside interfer ence by bi-partisan lobbyists,” Executive Secretary Ab Unknow ingly said. “Nothing was said at the meeting. No topics were dis cussed and mo decisions were reached. However, we feel we have made great progress,” Un knowingly stated. Despite Unknowingly’s state ment, reports from other delegates present differed considerably. Hades Fly, Sports Coach at Smoo College, emerged from the Ap palachian-like gathering with a pleased look on his face. “We came here looking for the truth and we feel gratified that it has not been found,” Fly said. Tuck ing his wire-tapping machine in his zoot suit, Fly said, “I would like to repeat my predictions on the upcoming season. Smoo definite ly will not win any games.” Prior to the SWC meeting, Fly had made accusations that recruit ers from other schools were spread ing rumors about Smoo. “Con trary to popular information and advice, Smoo definitely will not turn into a pumpkin on Sept. 1.” The morning session was inter rupted briefly while armed guards arrested pickets carrying signs that read, “Breakup the Bigmouths” “We want a draft to help the Ponies and Aggies,” “What Me Worry?” and “Avon calling.” BATTALION CLASSIFIED WANT AD RATES One day 34 per word 24 per word each additional day Minimum charge—10d DEADLINE 4 p.m. day before publication CHILD CARE HUMPTY DUMPTY NURSERY, Li censed by Texas State Dept, of Public Welfare. Grodeo Slated On Friday By Daring Thicks The annual Aggie Grodeo, spon sored by Spartan Vending Co., will get underway Friday morning and go through late Sunday night, an nounced Koach Blank Foldup and his staff of athletic supporters. Foldup said the slate of events will be elbow-bending, armpit smelling, moose riding and nose roping. The three-days of repul sion will begin Friday morning at the Hitching Post with the el bow-bending and armpit smelling contests. From there the Grodeo will move to the Clay Pits for the remainder of the program. Entered in elbow bending are Chugalug Reagan, Sudsy Carpen ter and Censored Latham. The event will be judged by Brownie Bourbon. Sickly Whitley, Jim Kil- lenburp and Vodka Collins, coached by Tonic Handler, will be in the armpit smelling. All of the Aggies have qualified for the moose riding event in other meets, and enough mooses will be on hand for each one. One of the most hotly contested events should be the nose roping event. Snorky Moore, Crude Mc- Line and Nostrils Nilson will fight for the nose title. Juel Crawl- berg will be the honorary judge. A special game, the camel dog ging, will be played between the Persian Institute of Social Studies and the Siberian Higher Institute of Technology. Joe Smith of the Ubanga Territory is the Persian star and teammate Harry Jones is noted as the nation’s top camel mounter. Koaches officiating the Grodeo are Scappy Mitclaps, Charlie Horse, Elmer Fudd, Jack Censored and Dick Joshin. Cadets To Snark With Bailiff Bares The Aggies hitch hike to the Baptist Bastian of Waco Wed nesday to challenge the Bailiff Bares in a Southwest Clique snarking match. Coach Tonic Handler feels his squad isn’t ready for the contest but doesn’t have much choice. “Our water boy is suffering from a torn muscle in his wrist and our batboy has leprosy but I guess they’ll both play. Of course we’ll be praying for rain as usual.” Project Chump Takes Gas “Chump” is in the process of being flushed. The project, or ganized by The Squadron to buy rabbitball koach Scappy Mitclaps an oceanliner, has been revised. Due to a diminishing number of donations, the fund has been re targeted to aim for a go-kart. Few contributions have been re ceived thus far. Under these circumstances the project will fail. Contributors will be listed in The Squadron. Koach Mitclaps sure needs an oceanliner. AggieHuntersWin Annual Easter Tilt WithExcitingClose A&M’s cellar - dwelling Hunt Club pulled the upset of the season Sunday beating the Texas (pro nounced Tay-hoss) Bigmouths 17- 16 in their nationally televised Easter Egg Hunt. In a dramatic finish, the Aggies found two striped eggs in the clos ing 10 seconds to pull out the vic tory. High scorer for the Maroon was Hew Heffer who gathered in seven eggs and three bunnies. The de fense was led by Twinkle Toes Ruballa who squashed four Tea- sip eggs and filched five more. Wonder Wart Hare, TU All- American egg finder and custard chunker, broke his bifocals and was ejected for fighting with the referee’s seeing eye dog. Cadet Coach Phil “Bugs” Bryant was elated at the win and twitched his ears rapidly as he compli mented the squad. “Boy, oh boy. Just wait till next year. Our boys hunted their hearts out. This is without a doubt the greatest litter I have had the privilege to coach.” Loupot's Western Wear... After Ford’s spectacular debut in last year’s Indianapolis 500-mile race, many people won dered what we would come up with next. Well it’s here! Ford Motor Company engineers have developed a brand-new V-8 especially for this year’s competition at Indy. Although it’s the same size as the 1963 version, this racing engine is a much "livelier” performer because of four overhead gear- driven camshafts and other refine ments. Overall results of these revo lutionary changes: an increase of at least 44 horses, delivering 420 hp or more at 8,000 rpm. Ford engineers met many challenges in develop ing this engine. But this is just typical of the challenges being accepted every day by our employes . . . that’s what makes Ford Motor Company such an exciting place to work. And not only in engineering. Exciting opportunities exist in manufacturing, finance, sales, marketing, industrial relations, purchasing, traffic, product planning, styling and research. All types of career opportunities for all types of graduates. If you’re looking for an interesting career—look to Ford Motor Company. A growing company in a growing industry.
