MAIN BRYAN SWC Meeting Does Nothing As Usual Representatives of the Southwest Clique met over the holidays to discuss recruiting violations and the University of Snook’s applica tion for membership in the elite eight-member group. “We had the meeting in La- Grange to avoid outside interfer ence by bi-partisan lobbyists,” Executive Secretary Ab Unknow ingly said. “Nothing was said at the meeting. No topics were dis cussed and mo decisions were reached. However, we feel we have made great progress,” Un knowingly stated. Despite Unknowingly’s state ment, reports from other delegates present differed considerably. Hades Fly, Sports Coach at Smoo College, emerged from the Ap palachian-like gathering with a pleased look on his face. “We came here looking for the truth and we feel gratified that it has not been found,” Fly said. Tuck ing his wire-tapping machine in his zoot suit, Fly said, “I would like to repeat my predictions on the upcoming season. Smoo definite ly will not win any games.” Prior to the SWC meeting, Fly had made accusations that recruit ers from other schools were spread ing rumors about Smoo. “Con trary to popular information and advice, Smoo definitely will not turn into a pumpkin on Sept. 1.” The morning session was inter rupted briefly while armed guards arrested pickets carrying signs that read, “Breakup the Bigmouths” “We want a draft to help the Ponies and Aggies,” “What Me Worry?” and “Avon calling.” BATTALION CLASSIFIED WANT AD RATES One day 34 per word 24 per word each additional day Minimum charge—10d DEADLINE 4 p.m. day before publication CHILD CARE HUMPTY DUMPTY NURSERY, Li censed by Texas State Dept, of Public Welfare.
