McFarland, A&M graduate student from Wills Point was a member of the first “class” of 26 Aerospace Summer Interns at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston. W. F. MCFARLAND NASA Summer Intern Interns in the special National Aeronautics and Space Administra tion program recently received certificates of graduation and re turned for fall semester classes at various colleges. The unique program, according to Manned Spacecraft Center Di rector Dr. Robert Gilruth, gives outstanding students an opportun ity to correlate experience with academic training. McFarland, who had completed his seventh year of studies in eco nomics, was among 10 public and business majors who participated in weekly two-hour seminars com parable to graduate courses in management theory.
