The Aggies, behind the 35-point
performance of junior Bennie Len
ox, regained the magic touch Tues
day night and defeated the SMU
Mustangs 76-70 in G. Kollie White
Coliseum.
Lenox hit 10 field goals and 15
of 17 free throws to fall two points
short of Carroll Broussard’s record
of 37.
Despite Lenox’s one man show,
the Cadets had to pull up from a
five-point deficit, 37-32, at half
time to ice the victory.
A disappointing crowd of 4,000
was not disappointed in the game
as both squads moved the ball well,
hustled and generally gave the
fans a fast-moving, interesting,
close contest.
The Ponies jumped out to a
fast 14-6 lead, making good on
their first six shots and two foul
shots. The Aggies closed the gap
on two jump shots by Paul Timmins
for a 16-16 tie.

part of the Maroon helped SMU
to gain a nine point advantage
before the tide turned.
The Farmers took five minutes
of the second half to catch the
Mustangs and held for the remain

Though Lenox accounted for
nearly half the scoring, he received
a lot of help defensively from ball

Windham grabbed off 15 rebounds
to lead both teams.
