So far this season the Ags have an unblemished record. They look to be on their way to another state championship—their fourth in a row. Brent was the unanimous choice for outstanding player in Sunday’s game on the A&M field. Also standing out on defense were Ben ito Lopez and Juan Marciacq. United was held scoreless in the first half. They almost tallied when the referee granted an pen alty shot from 12 paces but Brent stopped the kick. According to Agusto Cruzalegui, Brent had the finest day an A&M goal-keeper has had in four years as he stopped countless dangerous kicks at his sacred ground by the United forwards. Ramiro Gereda kept alive his offensive prowess, scoring two goals for the second time in two weeks. Another Aggie goal came from the toe of Carlos Rivera on a penalty kick in the first half. The Cadets will meet a well- primed Lamar Tech in Beaumont Tuesday night and can expect a little tougher time than they had Saturday with two of Centenary’s key starters out with injuries. Jun- ion college transfer Gerald Wood ard, who Rogers had hoped would “give us added scoring punch,” lived up to all expectations as he dropped 21 points to take game high-point honors. Big Jerry Windham, who led the rebounding with eight steals, was the Ags’ second best scorer with 17 tallies. He was followed by Bennie Lenox with 14 and Bill Robinette with 11. Although they only hit 37.9 per cent, the Gentlemen were no slouches offensively, and had four of their own lads in double fig ures. Stan McAfoos kept pace with Woodard and ,came up only one free throw short with 20. Wil lard Moore had 16, Don Ensley had 15 and Riley Wallace had 12. Rogers got a look at his entire squad in action with a 25-point lead midway in the second half. He was pleased with the first- game showing of the Ags. A&M’s defense, however, and its speed getting back downcourt, left some thing to be desired at times. Rogers wasn’t too worried here though. “You can teach the boys defense,” he pointed out, “but it’s kind of hard to teach them how to shoot the ball.” ilWlil S5t»s !
