In his letter, Wilke agreed with a statement made last week by Attorney Gen eral Robert Kennedy that the Mexican War was unnecessary. His last paragraph should have read: “I believe that by using our economic and military power to keep nations out of the UN, to force so-called “fi-ee” nations to actively support NATO and SEA TO, to persuade others to do the fighting while we do the train ing — I believe that by doing these things, we are just pick ing for a fight. Such a policy is senseless. Such a policy could, in a very short time, have you and me being blown to bits on some remote hillside that we don’t really care who owns.
