Ttallie White Coliseum with the TCU Horned Frogs should be a real tangle. The Horned Frogs, who have been christened with the name of “giartt killers” after knocking off Tech in Lubbock, do not have an impressive record (3-5 in SWC play) but they can come up with the a big” game. Against Tech Reynolds dropped in 30 points and hit on the final-second field goal that spelled defeat for the Red Raiders. The Aggies and Frogs met ear lier this season in Fort Worth and A&M came out on top, 79-72. Rey nolds was top scorer in the game with 21 points. Last season, as the Aggies fin ished second in the SWC only one game, behind, it was the loss to TCU in Fort Worth that was prob ably the deciding game. TCU has a fine center in Alton Adams, a 6-9 junior from Houston (Milby). Adams has always per- formed well against the Cadets. The Horned Frogs still have a lot of time in order to operate on the top teams—their next three games are against the leaders. Every coach in the conference has much respect for Coach Byron (Buster) Brannon’s highly-spirited Horned Frog team. A&M Coach Bob Rogers will not let his Cadet club let down simply because they are playing a team that is seventh place in the SWC race. Probable starting lineup for TCU is: David Warned (6-5), Phil Reynolds (6-0), Alton Adams (6-9), Tommy Pennick (6-2), and Johnny Fowler (6-4). Rogers will probably go with Carroll Broussard (6-5), Jerry Windham (6-6), Benny Johnson (6-3), Bennie Lenox (6-2), and Tommy Smith (6-2). Next game for A&M will be on Feb. 20 in Houston against the Rice Owls. The freshman game will precede the varsity contest and will start at 6 p.m. TUSCON, Ariz. Thirty lettermen from last fall’s fourth place Aggie team are re turning and for this reason Fold- berg feels that he is in good shape for material. Also returning is halfback Eddie Van Dyke, a 1959- 60 letterman who was ineligible last year. Foldberg pointed out, however, that he isn’t going to judge the quality of his team until he secs it in action. “I’m not going to get involved with judging them on what they did last year,” he said. “They have to show us on the field.” Of the 70 hopefuls who will re port for spi’ing ti-aining, half are sophomores, so there is plenty of new blood in the picture. Foldberg reports that he plans to use the wide-open style that earned him two 8-2 records at Wichita in the last two seasons. He will substitute by units. “We like to throw and we use the formation that will best utilize our football ability,” he explained. The annual spring game, which terminates the off-season drills, is tentatively scheduled for Mar. 24. ITe all rnalie mistakes,.')
