Sponsor of A&M’s official bowling team, this committee pro motes bowling tournaments among A&M students and with other colleges and universities. A&M bowlers, through the sponsorship of this committee, participate in a national bowl ing contest operated by the Association of College Unions and the American Bowling Congress. Last year a member of this committee participated in the National Collegiate Bowling Roll- Off in Detroit. Students who wish to learn to bowl, “duffer bowlers”, and skilled bowlers participate in this organization and compete with each other weekly. This committee, during the Spring of 1962, will sponsor the Eleventh Annual Inter collegiate Bowling Tournament.” Chairman: Chuck Haynes. BRIDGE . . . convenes weekly to play bridge and discuss plays. Beginners are always welcome. Sponsors annual Invitational Bridge Tournament in the Spring for competition among colleges in the Southwest. Chairman: John W. (Johnny) Johnson. BROWSING LIBRARY . . . is in charge of selecting periodicals and books placed in the MSC library and determining policy for its use. CAMERA CLUB . . . The Camera Committee, with its fullj equipped darkrooms, brings outstanding photo exhibits to the MSC, sponsors several club contests, and sponsors the Annual A&M Photo Salon for competition among colleges in the Southwest. Chairman: James W. (Bill) Mo' re. CHESS . . . Meets bi-monthly for instructional purposes, to play chess, and is planning competition with the ches dubs 1 s 'veral other colleges in the Texas Area. Co-Chairman: .Rav Moore and Gary M. Sinimy, DANCE . . . sponsors instruction in all types of ballroom dancing and numerous dances during the year, including the famous Aggie version of a French nightclub, “Cafe Rue Pinalle”. Registra tion for Panen Classes will begin I’uesday, Sept 27 in the Ball* room. Chairman: Jinim Fadah EVALUATION . . . studies the various MSC activity committees in order to help make the MSC student program as effective as possible in accomplishing its aim to serve the students of A&M. Chairman: Ronny Hampton. PAN-AMERICAN WEEK COMMITTEE . . . An organization composed of both Latin American and Ameri can students, which plans the festivities held annually during Pan-American Week. FLYING CADETS . . . Organized for all students on the campus who are interested in flying. Members who do not fly, but are interested in areo- nautics, are welcome. This organization hosted the Thirteenth Annual National Intercollegiate Flying Meet in the Spring of 1961. Chairman: Robert K. (Bob) Wright. GREAT ISSUES . . . presents annually by group of internationally and nationally known speakers, discussing topices of interest to the student body, college staff and community. Presentations sponsored by this committee are open to all students who have paid their student activity fee. Community and college staff may pur chase tickets in the MSC building cashier's window.
