Program Highlights
The highlights of the program,
which is co-sponsored by Prawy
and Marald A. Hoeller under the
personal supervision of Andre
Mertens of Columbia Artists Man
agement Inc., begins with the cele-
brater Austrian national anthem,
which Josef Haydn often declared
was his favorite of his many
works, and a group of stirring
marches by the Deutschmeister
Band. A group of romantic num
bers featuring Miss von Widmann,
Gross and the Viennese Belles are
collected under the tile of one of
Johann Strauss’s lovliest waltzes:
“Tales from the Vienna Woods,”
inspired by and old print, another
number recalls “A Party in Schu
bert’s Days.”
His good humor and supply of
effervescent melodies made young
Frank Schubert a great social fa
vorite in Vienna. It is just such
an evening that the principals and
the string ensemble will recreate.
Admission for the production
tonight will be $1 for high school
and elementary students; and $2.50
and $3 for . adults.
HOT TIP
NIAGARA FALLS, N. Y. I A*)—
Attendants at a service station
here thought they had encountered
the last of the big-time spenders
when a man with a Tampa, Fla.,
address wrote a $15 check to cover
a $9 car repair bill.
But the only tip they actually
got wad one from the bank, which
notified them the check had
bounced.

ments, central office equipment,
furniture and fixtures, automo
biles, tools, station apparatus, sta
tion installations and other rou
tine operations.
“We feel sure that the residents
of Bryan and College Station will
agree that it is only fair that we
be given a rate adjustment,” Bren
nan concluded. “We want only
enough to continue to grow with
the community by providing the
best possible telephone facilities
available—that and no more,” said
Bi-ennan.
