***** .Page 6 THE BATTALION College Station, Texas Thursday, February 11, 1960 Two Ag Extension Economists To Give Six Talks, Feb. 16-20 Two economists with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service will make six farm community talks from Feb. 16-20, a period of six days. They are Bob G. Cherry and Dr. A. B. Wooten who will discuss the importance of agriculture in the Texas economy, agri-business and the agricultural outlook for 1960. The talks are part of a week-long Soil Fertility Days program spon sored by the Fort Worth and Den ver Railroad and the Texas Agri cultural Extension Service. Feb. 16, Wooten will speak at Sudan and Cherry will address a farm group at Lubbock. Cherry will then make talks on Feb. 17 at Dimmitt; Feb. 18, Silverton; Feb. 19, Lockndy, and Feb. 20 at Tulia. John G. MoHaney, another econ omist with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, will speak Feb. 11 at tljje annual banquet of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. His subject also will be the impor tance of agriculture to the total Texas Economy. RATES Ag Soph’s Sister Is Cover Girl Miss Marianne Hooke, sister of William B. Hooke, Squad ron 17 sophomore, is this year’s Cover Girl for the annual Rio Grande/Valleye Livestock Show to be held at Mercedes. As part of her duties she will visit numerous other live stock exhibitions in the state and meet with Gov. Price Daniel and Commissioner of Agriculture John C. White.
