T. L McLaughlin Conducts Research
Thomas L. McLaughlin, A&M
student from Bryan, is engaged in
original research on anaplasmosis,
a blood destroying disease of cattle.
Under the dixection of Dr. T. E.
Fi'anklin, associate professor in
vetexdnary medicine, McLaughlin
is studying the mici-oscopic organ
ism “anaplasma mai’ginale,” the
causative agent of anaplasmosis.
The research is chiefly concerned
with an attempt to study blood
cells passing from a living infected
calf into a special chamber where
time-lapse-phase photomicrographs
will be made of the disease-causing
organism.
Thi’ough his technique, which is
new to science, it will be possible,
it is pointed out, to study blood
