Registrations are still being ac cepted and additional teachers and other workers will be needed, ac cording to Mrs. Lonzell Payton and Mrs. Carl Zietlow, co-superinten dents of the school. Parents and prospective workers may obtain enrollment forms at the various churches or by calling Mrs. Payton at VI 6-4644 or Mrs. Ziet low at VI 6-7550. “God Is Love’' will be the theme of the program. Pam Hayes, a member of Coach Art Adamson’s College Station Swimming Club, set a new pool record in winning a first place trophy at the Dad’s Club Invita tional Age Group Swimming Meet in Spring Branch last Friday. Hayes finished first in the sen ior girls 100-yard breaststroke in 1.24 to set the new Spring Branch Swimming Pool record. She also won a second place medal in the senior girls 100-yard butterfly. Becky Kahan, another College Station swimmer, finished second in the intermediate girls 200-yard freestyle Friday. Saturday Kahan took a fourth place in the inter mediate 100-yard freestyle. The only other CS swimmer to place in Friday’s events was Joe Brusse who finished fifth in the senior boys 200-yard freestyle. Saturday’s College Station win ners were Jered Hitchcock, fourth in the intermediate boys 100-yard freestyle; Sharon Covey, fourth in the junior girls 50-yard freestyle; and the midget girls 100-yard free style relay team consisting of Di anne Bell, Viginia Patterson, Mar tha Lawrence, and Kay Callahan which finished fourth. Also Johnny Lawrence, David Brusse, Preston Smith, and Paul Fagan who make up the midget boys 100-yard freestyle relay which finished third; and Leslie Brusse, Randy Ransdall, Scott Manning and Bill Ewens, members of the intermediate boys 200-yard free style relay team which came in third. Other team members not placing were Billie Dozier, Donna Dozier, Johnny Badgett, John Covan and Scott Harvey. Fifty-three mother-daughter combinations have been bowling in 80 leagues in Joliet, Ill. Church, neither democracy nor civiliza tion can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should at tend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children’s sake. (3) For the ! Strengthen him and his counsellors in the fulfil- [thent of their trust. Enlighten both his supporters and his loyal opposition in every search for the best solution to the problems that beset our nation and our world. Preserve the peace, never letting the flame of . freedom flicker for one moment in our hearts. [ And guide the families of our land to the Sources ; of Light and Life and Love, multiplying the influence of the Bible, extending the witness of the Church . . . that the blessing we invoke upon this House may permeate every home in a dedicated America, ' ^men.
