Catcher Fred Praetorious open ed the inning for the Aggies by slashing a single to left field. Praetorious advanced to second on John Hudson’s walk and went to third when relief pitcher Garnet Stubbins gave A. T. Crumpton a free trip. His sec ond homer came in the 12th inning with two men on base to provide the winning margin for the Farm ers. TCU^’s George Banda’s error in the top of the ninth paved the way for three runs Saturday and the Aggies went on to defeat TCU, 9-8, in ten innings. With two away in the top of the ninth Banda dropped A&M’s Ralph Plumlee’s pop fly to short to give the Aggies a new lease on life. The Ags went on to score three times in that frame to take an 8-7 lead. The Frogs came back in the bot tom of that inning to tie the score, 8-8. But A&M pushed across the winning run in the next frame when Barber walked, went to second on a ground out and scored on Dick Hickerson’s double to left. Earlier in the game TCU had built a 5-1 lead in the first three frames, scoring two in the second and three more runs in the third. The victories gave the Aggies a 6-4 Southwest Conference record and threw them into a tie with Rice for second place behind the leading Texas Longhorns.
