Corps baseball, matching Air Force groups and Army battalions, became a reality for the first time last year when both the Air Force and Army fielded a league made up of seven teams. Each team , played six league games, and at the conclusion of play the Fifth Group and the Second Battalion, Second Regiment, winners of their • respective leagues, locked horns in,a championship game which the Army nine won. Tommy Kolterman, senior from Lyford, and Fred Meurer, junior from Fredericksburg, presented their proposal for guiding the pro gram to Col. Henry Dittman, Pro fessor of Air Science. Col. Ditt man promised full support from the military department to once again furnish umpires for the games this year.
