This past Saturday afternoon, be fore a partisan crowd of 5,307 bas ketball fans and a Midwest regional television audience, Aggie Coach Bobby Rogers’ unknown Cadets came from behind in the fourth quarter with nine straight points to overcome a five-point deficit of 60-55, and post the second win of their Eastern tour, 72-69. The Cadets were anything but “lady-like” however, as they showed the Big Ten powerhouse the value of being raised on sagebrush and sand. Forty-three fouls were called during the contest, with the rough- house Aggies taking the call on 23 occasions. Wayne Lawrence, 6-9 center from Pawcatuck, Conn, was the game’s leading scorer with 17 points. How ever, there were four other 1 Cadets in the double scoring column. Buckeye Ken Sidle was second highest with 16 points. Neil Swish er scored 13 to become runner-up to Lawrence for the Aggies. Ohio State gave the ball away on 19 occasions, but managed to control the backboards with some degree of proficiency. Their big three, Frank Howard, Larry Hus ton and Sidle cleaned 31 of the 41 bounce-backs off the boards. The Aggies lost the ball but three times. The lead changed hands several times throughout the game with the Buckeyes holding a 36-35 edge at the half. The Aggies scored first but OSU took the lead and relinquished it only twice during the first half. Midway in the second quarter, the Buckeyes led by nine points, at 23-14.
