Rehearsals Begin For Aggie Actors The Aggie Players take the first step in the five-month rehearsal schedule for Shakespeare’s Macbeth at 7:30 p. m. tonight in the Music Hall, director C. K. Esten has an nounced. “This first meeting is ‘command attendance’ for all members of the Aggie Players,” Esten remarked. “We would also like to have any one else in the community even remotely interested in any part pf the production present.” Tonight’s mepting will include a discussion by Esten and Dr. Sam Southwell, who since mid-summer has been writing the script for the production, the basic elements of the play and the particular ap proaches being made by the Play ers. “Some readings will be included in the agenda of the meeting”, said Esten. “I would urge everyone who will attend the meeting to read or re-read the play before then.” The production will be the larg est the Players have done in many years, Esten said. There will be 28 actors and a number of bit players at its showing on a special stage in the Memorial Student Center Ball room during February. Others working on the play in clude Mary Southwell, who is de signing the costumes, Eugenia Har ris, in charge of making the costumes, and Allen Schrader, an English instructor who has written special music for the production. Bethel represents the first floor; Losen, second; Simmons, third, apd Hoffman, fourth. The meeting ends Friday. The state-wide meeting will cov er research needs of the future and research underway at College Station and 44 other locations over the state, according to Director R. D. Lewis. Several discussions on results of research will be held. The welcoming address will be given by D. W. Williams, vice president for agriculture. Out-of- state speakers include W. C. Shaw, Agricultural Research Service, U.S.D.A.; Harrell DeGraff, Bab cock professor of Food Economics, Graduate School of Nutrition, Cor nell University; K. S. Quisenberry, assistant administrator, Produc tion Research Division, ARS, USDA; and E. F. Knipling, direc tor, Entomology Research Divis ion, ARS, USDA. Sessions will be held each morn ing and afternoon. The annual banquet will be held Wednesday night. Minister To Speak On Communism At Wesley Meeting Dr. Das Kelley Barnett will speak on “Communism Today” at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Methodist Wesley Foundation. The Rev. Barnett is professor of Christian ethics at the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. He has done research on communism’s relation to Christianity at Perkins Seminary. His talk will be the first of two on the subject of Christianity and communism.
