Page 6 Thur., July 11, 1957 THE BATTALION Rev. Robert O. Cooper Rev. Cooper Joins A&M Wesley Staff The Rev. Robert O. Cooper recently joined the staff of the Wesley Foundation at A&M. Formerly he served as di rector of the Wesley Foundation at West Texas State College in Canyon and at Texas Women’s Col lege in Denton. He also served as dean of the Texas Methodist Student Move ment Annual Thanksgiving Con ference- for several years and as counselor of the student council of the Texas Methodist Student Movement. At A&M he will work jointly with Methodist students and with the Texas Methodist Student Move ment on a state level. In his pos ition as program director of the A&M Wesley Foundation, he will work with the Rev. Robert Monk, foundation director. EE Department Sponsors EE Short Course Eight electrical engineers from widely scattered sec tions of Texas, plus two from Arkansas and New Mexico, are attending the short course on Application of Symmetrical Components to Power Systems be ing held here. The short course ends Friday. Sponsored by the Hlectrical En gineering Department, the advanc ed course is offered at the request of electrical engineers desiring ad ditional study on application of the mathematical method of analysis of electrical networks. Later in the month the third annual basic short course on Theory and Appli cation of Symmetrical Components will be held at the college. Lewis M. Haupt Jr., of the Elec trical Engineering Department, is conducting the short course, assist ed by Mrs. Mai-ie F. Reel, instruc tor. Electrical engineers attending the advanced course include Ray Anderson and Lionard Schwobel, Texas Electric Service Co., Fort Worth; E. C. Rummel and S. F. Skinner, City of Austin; Jim Brab- ston, Arkansas Power and Light Co., Pine Bluff, Ark.; Byron Broyles, Central Power and Light Co., San Benito; C. H. Lackey, Car bide and Carbon Chemicals Co., Texas City; Clarence McKee, Pub lic Service Co. of New Mexico, Al- buquerque, N. M.; W. E. Talley, Dow Chemical Co., Freeport and C. Ray Thomas, H. E.
