McFarland Addresses WSCS Mrs. Frank McFarland spoke on rhe Search for Happiness’ at onday’s meeting of the A&M ethodist Woman’s Society of iristian Service. The devotional was presented by rs. J. R. Hillman, who used at her theme, “The Secret of Effec tive Prayer.” Mrs. W- W. Mills, president, con ducted the business meeting. It was announced that members of the society will present programs over WTAW at 9:45 each Thursday morning in June. Seventeen members and guest enjoyed the social hour, hostess, Mrs. I. M. Hostesses will be Carolyn Arnold, Jean Tucker, Ann Hinton, Doris McDaniel, Billie Holder and Elaine Goolsby. Winners at the last meeting were, in the regular group, Jean Harvey, first, Virginia Fereday, second, and Bettye Ann Davis, low. A business meeting is scheduled by Agronomy Wives for 8 p. m. Monday in the home of Virginia Bockholt, 904 Fairvi'ew, College Station. * * * Dames Club has planned a social meeting for 8 p. m. Tuesday in the south solarium of the YMCA. All student wives are invited to attend. SAY MARRIAGE VOWS—Miss Linda Elizabeth Scott becomes the bride of James Shelby Cassity Jr. in the first wedding ceremony to be performed in the new A&M Chapel. Dr. Harry Rankin, officiating clergyman, and Mrs. J. E. McLemore, matron of honor, look on. Business Administration Wives Club will hold a covered dish sup per at 6 p. m. Monday in Hensel Park. Each member is to bring a covered dish and her summer dues. Scott-Cassity Vows Said In New Chapel In the first wedding solemnized m the new A&M Chapel, Miss Linda Elizabeth Scott of Bryan became the bride of James Shelby Cassity Jr. of Gary. The double- ring ceremony was read by Dr. Harry Rankin of the Bryan First Methodist Church at 2 o’clock Fri day afternoon. Parents mf the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Scott of 307 Laurel Lane in Bryan and the James S. Cassitys of Gary. \ Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a white lace sheath complemented with white accessories. She carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Mrs. J. E. McLemore of Corpus Christi attended her sister as matron of honor. Best man was J. H. Kirkpatrick of Springfield Conn., and Tom Speed of Spring town and Dale Ullrich of San An tonio served as ushers. The home of the bride’s parents was the scene of the reception which followed the nuptial rites After a wedding trip to an undis closed destination, the newlywed couple will return to College Sta tion where Mr. Cassity will com plete his senior year at A&M. The former Miss Scott is a grad uate of Stephen F. Austin High School. At A&M, Mr. Cassity is a member of the Ross Volunteers. College Bryan, Texas Next to Campus Theatre College Station, Texas Miss Gaytlia Edgar, George Boyett Wed Miss Gaytha Viveene Edgar and George H. Boyett, both of College Station, were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony per formed at 2 p. m. Saturday in the A&M Chapel. Branch President Wayne Clark of the Latter Day Saints Church officiated. The former Miss Edgar is the daughter of Sgt. and Mrs. John C. Flavin of 504A Milam. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Alton P. Boyett, 315 Boyett St. For her wedding the bride selected a ballerina-length grown of white taffeta and lace, lace gloves and a tulle veil gathered to a crown of satin. She carried , a bouquet of white roses and pink rosebuds and wore an heirloom cameo necklace, gift from the groom. The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather. Serving as maid of honor was Miss Carolyn Wilson, who wore a sheath in pink brocade with a lace jacket. Her bouquet was a nose gay of pink sweetheart roses. Best man was Larry E. Lee of Houston. A reception followed the nuptials at the Latter Day Saints Chapel, after which the newlyweds left for a honeymoon in Galveston. They will make their home at 1025 14th St. in Beaumont.
